The Beginning of Everything

Wow, I would have never thought a year ago I would be creating a blog. I actually didn't highly consider it until recently, but my big push was after eating lunch with a coworker who talked about starting this journey together. This is incredibly exciting and nerve-raking for me because I don't do well with keeping up with things. For instance, I started bullet journaling in January and wanted to capture my life in a year of doodles and plans. That lasted... 3 months. To my defense, I was in a serious car accident in February which completely changed everything and my priorities shifted. I became more focused on my job and completing my masters, building up my social media teacher profile, and putting family first. My energy level and physical ability was so low, I had to regroup what was most important to me. So this blog is the next step in my "teacher profile" where I hope to provide an insight into my life as a teacher and all that encompasses it. That will not only include what is happening in the classroom, but my life which inspires the type of teacher that I am. It may not always be beautiful, but I promise to keep it real with my readers.

Quickly, I'll tell you a bit about myself:
My name is Amber Miller. I've been teaching in North Alabama for 6 years- 3 in Kindergarten, 1 in PreK, and I just finished my 2nd year in 5th grade. I will continue to teach 5th grade Reading/ELA next year when we return to school in August. I'm originally from Georgia, which is where my brother and parents still live. I have done both my bachelors and masters at University of West Georgia and fully believe in their education program, which is why I chose to get my masters there as well. I got married last year to my best friend, which sounds cliche, but it's completely true. We have 3 cats and a guinea pig, which was my PreK class pet and still kicking! We love to travel, go to concerts, and be outdoors. I love to binge watch Netflix and Hulu to relax, but exercising is also a good stress relief for me.

I can't wait to show y'all more about what I've been up to this summer and getting ready for next year. I'll be back at a later time to do that fun stuff for you though! Until then, feel free to follow me on other medias and I'll be back later!!
